About Me

I've been coding since 1988, when I started with BASIC at age 12. These days I teach computer science to high schoolers and build apps and web projects on the side.

I'm a Computer Science teacher at a high school, where I get to introduce the next generation of students to programming and robotics. Outside the classroom, I do web development — this site included.

As VEX Robotics coach, my teams won all three national championships held in Kuwait, taking home Skills, Championship, and Excellence awards, and I coached the national team all three years we qualified for the World Championship in Dallas, Texas. Several of those students went on to study tech fields in university; some now lead their university's robotics teams, and others have gone into coaching the next generation themselves.

I also coached a team that placed second in Kuwait's National AI Competition with a project aimed at elderly care: an alarm clock that uses an Arduino to control servo motors, dispensing the correct medication at the correct time and auto-correcting its schedule if a dose is missed.

I've been writing code for close to four decades now, that long a run means I've picked up a lot along the way, but I still enjoy learning new tools and languages as much as I did at 12.
